The Instant
01:59
It could only happen in an instant. It could only happen with a spark. Suddenly, everything came together at the same time it all fell apart. In an instant, everything changed. In an instant, humanity came of age. A sudden wash of empathy came coursing through the minds of a once so selfish people. Billions and billions of lives. We all looked at one another. We all looked at ourselves. What was this confusing feeling and why did we give a fuck?

Trouble
01:27
We have trouble. Something to fix. We're gonna have trouble with you in the mix. Nothing happened. Something went wrong. You're not like us, but it won't be long. You non-conformists only think for yourselves. We were once like you, but we got mental health. Don't ask why we all give a fuck. That's the mystery. Now you're out of luck. You're out of luck.

You didn't care. Just admit it. Just be honest, 'cause you're safe now. Can't say I blame you. I felt the same ... but, in an instant, everything changed. Burned down the factories. Freed the slaves. Changed our diet. Changed our ways. Once subject to mockery. We all viewed it as weak, but now compassion has us back on our feet. Not a religion. Not a lifestyle. Not a bullshit fad. A conscience shift.

Up Rising, Together
02:02
Been a long time coming. It's about time we evolved. It's a bit overwhelming, surrounded by love ... but there's something in the weeds. Some backlash against our progress. No sympathy for disease. Up rising, together. Up rising, together. A united front. Don't be afraid of the groupthink. This time it's for good. There's something in the weeds. Some backlash against our progress. Eradicate the disease. Up rising, together.

The Movement
01:58

Here we go (let it go), with momentum, full fucking speed ahead. Let it go (here we go). All hands on deck, we've got a brave new world to mend. Stick together (our unity). Seek out those wish to destroy our unity (stick together). It's not up to them, they can either die or join. Die or join (join or die). Join or die (die or join). It makes no difference.

Backlash
01:15
We get the sense that it's already started. The small minority, freaks of fucking nature. Where's their compassion? Sense of empathy? Sitting on their asses, keyboard warriors. Backlash (fucking keyboard warriors). Backlash (freaks of fucking nature). Fuck you, we know what you're all about. We were just like you. Watch your backs ... soon will be the day when, hand in hand, we'll tear your houses down. Backlash (we'll tear your houses down). Backlash (hand in hand).

Never Wanted This
02:08
I don't know what's wrong with me. Always thought I'd someday see truth all around me, not all the lies, but now I'm something that they all despise. I never wanted this. Outside looking in. I never wanted this. Their patience is wearing thin. I never wanted this. It all seems like a scam. I never wanted this, but I'm their sacrificial lamb. That empty feeling when you're left behind. Felt it before, but now my life's on the line. One day, you're feeling ignored ... then the next, you're fucking nailed to the door.

I'm so happy for you and your perfect utopia. But what about me? Look at the happy animals, and the angry people, too. Why should I conform? Everything's great but we're still shit. Humans over humans. Always fit to enslave.

Failed Projections
01:53
It seems so strange how humans behave when there's an expectation. When the freedom dies. Failed projections. Nothing ever seems to work out right. You try to control us, but there's no justice. You push and prod and then corral. We won't be your newfound animals.

Totally Bonkers
02:33
I'm stuck in a minute, looking in a broken mirror. Feeling irrelevant, but I know that there's an end in sight. All around me, I hear the whispering of violence. I can smell the blood drifting through the window. It's totally bonkers. Rounded up in the middle of the winter. Pulled from our homes, covered with sheets of rain. You bet they wanted to clean up the world a little. It'll take too much precious water to wash away these stains. It's totally bonkers. Sitting in this cell, I marvel at human hypocrisy. We, as a species, now endowed with empathy (so they say), but I'm afraid it's all a sham. At our core, there's an innate need to weed. It's totally bonkers.

What If ... ?
02:05
History repeats itself, no matter how many people die. We all serve the lie. It's a sad fucking game, this collective desire to kill. We love to destroy the truth. We tend to ignore the bright blood red letters on the wall. We tend to think we can predict it all, but our tendency to cleanse leaves us worse off in the end. We think we feel empathy, but underneath it's contempt.

Lonesome Death
01:51
It only took a matter of weeks to stamp out the fucking freaks. Now the world is better off that we all feed into groupthink. I remember it was all about me ... before I felt the surge of empathy ... before I wrapped my hands around the throat of a dying man. It's a gas, what's come to pass. We live in veritable utopia. I remember the look in his eyes. I can't say he seemed too surprised. I barely felt anything at the time, as I squeezed out that selfish life. Sometimes I lie awake at night ... I think about all the animals saved ... I think I maybe feel a twinge of guilt ... but no one else does, so it must be all right.
